Vijayawada: The ruling YSRCP suffered a major setback on Monday as sitting MLA from Penamaluru in Krishna district Kolusu Parthasarathi resigned from the party and joined the TDP in the presence of TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh at Undavalli near here.

Besides Parthasarathi, president of the Vijayawada city unit of the YSRCP Boppana Bhavana Kumar and former chairman of the Kamma Corporation Tummala Chandrasekhar quit the party and joined the TDP. Welcoming all the leaders into the TDP fold, Lokesh felt that the need for all the people to come forward in support of the TDP in the upcoming elections to ensure that Chandrababu is back as the Chief Minister.
